Removing sealant

Hi, I have just purchased an ex display bathroom which I am happy with. 1 thing though, Wickes have used some sort of rubbery sealent round the top of the pedestal where the sink sits on.

What is the best thing I can do to remove this? I have tried peeling it off but I can't beleive how tough it is. So far I have got no where

Any ideas please?

razor blade to cut most of it off, then rub it with your finger..

failing that, I've been told that WD40 works well..

A sharp wood chisel works well.
