Heres a pic of a Healthy 11kv Vacum Circuit Breaker....

The actual contacts have all gone, and the ceramic pots and associated insulation parts too and even the 11kv Busbars have had a good toasting!!!. Not too sure what caused this yet!!!

same happened at hatton cross years ago, only problem there wasnt much left to photograph
 
Bet it was that bird in No 47, put a 13A fuse in her clock/radio instead of a 3A! :LOL:

Thats what they reckon Conny ;) ........ Its a very common problem for a DNO, Faulty clock radios taking 33/11Kv Primary substations out!! LOL

Hermetically Sealed?

Holmslaw, thats what I am suggesting as we used to call some DB's by that abbreviation when I used to build them years ago.
It may mean something else in this case.
Lets see if wingcoax agrees.
 
Wingcoax is spot on, they are the Busbars that interconnect each HV panel, one per phase

So you have 3 phase, 1 Ntl and 1 Earth.
looking at the one on the left, the 'locking' mark, (where they have been bolted), is elongated compared to the next 2.
Possible it was inverted on installation and 'worked loose' thereby dropping down and shorting out the panel?
