If you're saying that you bought a brand that would cost £20+ in a "we saw you coming shop" (or which would cost your electrician £30 - how did you work that one out?!) for under a tenner, then you did very well. However, if you paid an appropriate 'full' price for what you bought, one would certainly wonder about the quality.
And there's the aesthetics that these will most likely not look the same as your other sockets. At work we have a customer who had a row os sockets put in, some with and some without USB sockets. The USB ones stick out like a sore thumb as they are different to the rest.
