hi
I am installing a pond filter and garden lights, I want to install a 2 gang one way switch to operate both filter and lights. I have used armoured cable from a RCB/RCD unit but need to have confirmation on the wiring layout of the switch. I have been assuming that the live feed to the swithch would go to the first socket and fixed to in L1 (Neutral in the neutral block) and the live outfeed to the filter from COM, would I then bridge the live feed over to the second switch in the unit and repeat the process for lights. Is this correct?

Thanks
Kevin

On a switch, yes you are right

You would put the feed in L1 and link to the other L1 and use the com's as your output's one and two.

Or the other way round if desired.
feed into com linked to com and outputs from L1's

The switch is only switching between L1 / com.

If it was a dimmer though it sometimes does matter which way round.

Made a mistake on last posting I meant to say that my live feed went to COM not L1

As it is a switch it will work the same
