2A wall sockts and plugs for table lamps dont need fuses?

Had some table lamp sockets fitted that are swicthed from the room light.

Bought some plugs...they are very small and dont have fuses.

How come?

Also whats the biggest lamp I can power off it? How about about a 250W halogen uplighter?

No, they dont need fuses. I guess the flexes of these table lamps are rated to the circuit protective device?

In this case, protection at the board should be sufficient, providing you don't have 10A cb's...

The load limit is 2A.

The downstairs lighting circuit has a 5A CB.

According to what else I've seen running a 250W halogen uplighter should be OK?

250W divided by 240V = 1Amp - ish.

Correct?
