40 0r 45 mcb

Can any one tell me if a 40 amp mcb is ok for a 9.5 shower or do i need to change it for 45 mcb.

Have no problems with the shower just like to no if the 40 is ok for peace of mind thats all.

I would say you need a 45A MCB. Do not uprate the MCB unless you are absoloutly certain the caple is capable of carrying this current. (not forgetting to apply any derating factors)

9500W / 230V = 41.30A
 
Check the small print of the shower.

If, as is 99.9% certain, it says 9300W at 240V, 8500W at 230V, then your 40A breaker will be fine.

Cheers Chaps this is the second 9.5 shower iv'e fitted and both are working spot on with no problems with a 40 mcb.

Ban m8, i ant got the manual for the shower m8 so thats out the ?

Showr is a Triton 9.5 marbella.

I'll have to see if i can dig up some data on it.
