50 years for the Brexit Dividend

This Divorce Payment will have to be made, irrespective of the outcome of the negotiations:

Of course others, such as a**e end aka eeyore, and gasbag aka mightygob, and Theresa May/ Dominic Raab, will have a different opinion.
I prefer to believe the opinion of the National Audit Office. ;) I figure they are a tad more realistic.

Incidentally, that divorce bill has already risen significantly due to the fall in the value of the GBP. It will fall even further in the event of an acrimonious 'no deal' split. The bill is in Euros, not GBP!
It has probably risen to about £42bn by now, so far, merely due to the fall in the value of the pound.

If the foretold chaos and armageddon actually occur, UK could be in a position of never being able to repay it because the fall in the pound will keep pace with the repayments.

What does the national audit office say then?

No link no proof
****!

There are certain folk in the government that believe the promise the UK made to the EU, obliges us to pay towards those projects to which we are committed. They also say that should we welsh out on the deal then this will not look favourable in regards to other countries wishing to negotiate any future deals.

If Notch thinks this is not grounds to pay up then so be it. Maybe he thinks it won't make a difference. He is entitled to his opinion. Some politicians think it would be suicide but we are already jumping.

Mogg is under the impression that the effects of Brexit will take 50 years to materialise. Whatever the semantics, he did iterate that it would take a very long time and that he would likely be dead before any positive effect would be realised.

Ah, but Sixtus Boniface and the other 5 stupidly named ones will do quite nicely in the meantime!

“The overwhelming opportunity for Brexit is over the next 50 years.”

So your interpretaion is either,

In 50 years time any effect will be irrelevant to whether we leave or remain ?

Or,

No benefit will happen quickly ?

Did you find any definite positive benefits in his interview? He was pressed, which is what led to that statement

Weeeeellll, at least he hinted that there may be some kind of benefit.. sometime in the future.
Which is more than you lot say! You should be happy!

*runs and hides from the lynch mob* :)

50 years is a long time in todays' fast paced world. Especially when you consider the term of a Prime Minister or any term of office. People will quickly get fed up and will not tolerate a 50 year turnaround.

Rees Mogg is clearly insane.
