6 months old deck treatment

My decking was laid late last summer so is now 6-7 months old.

I was advised to leave the deck 6 months before treatment so it wasnt treat in any way.

As its getting warmer and drying out I now want to treat it. The original treatment has clearly gone and its not looking very pale due to weathering.

1) Do I use oil or stain?
2)As there is no mould, growth or original treatment on it do I still need to clean it or can I finish it straight away?

no expert but

oil

I'd give it a clean with a jet wash (careful not to get it too close and damage the timber) but that's up to you really.
