I left battery on and turned mains off then touched blue wire as advised and the bellbox rang once only and then stopped.

When i did the same again i.e. touching the wire it rang once only then nothing. So at least a connection from the B wire to the box is semi working.

Maybe the signal box is worth a look now?

Thanks is this jumper in the in house panel or up in the bell box? Fingers crossed its inside

Arrrrrrgh best get some ear plugs before i go up there. I'm on mothers day husband duties today but will give it a go later or probably next weekend when ive got a full day at it
