Following a false alarm (siren only) on my G3+ system, now neither the siren or the strobe work. I have checked out the system using the alarm and walk tests in the installation manual and all tests are OK except those for the strobe and siren. The siren/strobe fuse (F5) is OK and the strobe power is 12v, however, the siren +12v at terminals B and D is not present. The internal sounders are OK and all other alarm functions appear to work correctly. I have not examined the siren/strobe box (Sonade) as yet (height issues!). I would appreciate any ideas :?: :?:

Did you not see the answers you had 'in the other place?

I see something about not enough information in the very first reply you had, well that applies here also.

The last post was good >

How does the fuse check ? You looked at it?
Why was there a total power shut down?

Why did it false alarm? Thought about that?

Get a new battery.

The strobe will not activate in a total power off, the external bell/sounder should.
So you have two issues, a duff panel battery and a duff sounder SAB.

There's your answer (last line) from Alarm, he does know what he is talking about.

You say "+12v at terminals B and D is not present"

A & D should be present ALL THE TIME

B & D should ONLY be there in an ALARM CONDITION.

Do you know what the SAB connections are?

T = Tamper Return
E = Tamper Feed
A = -Ve Supply (0V)
D = +Ve Supply (12V)
B = -Ve Applied Sounder Trigger (0)

Thank you - I can confirm +12v between A & D.
In an alarm condition the voltage between B & D is +12V

Connections on J6 from my manual (G3+) are:

strobe + and - (12v present)
T & A (SCB)
D & B (bell)

It looks as if I do have a faulty sounder - do you agree :?:

It sounds like you have taken incorrect readings.
So retake and come back, but as I have said first change the battery.
No point doing anything until that is resolved.

PS you had all the answers before.
Rather boring repeating one self.
