Thinking of converting the external/detached garage into an office/playroom but the first issue would be if we can get enough natural light into the room.

The garage is accessible from the back of the garden and has a door at the side, i thought about extending that door into a long bi-fold door which stretches most of the way down, either something similar to these:

other alternative include:

or keeping the door location as it is and having a big window installed instead:

With either option, we are not thinking of having the existing garage door bricked up or removed since there won't really be much need.

Was just wondering if anybody had done a similar project and can offer advice on making this selection between doors, pros + cons etc

Thanks
