Hi, can anyone offer any advice on fitting low level toilets? Is it best to get the pan in postion first and screw down. Then sort out the cistern? and whats the best way of working out were the cistern brackets go? Thanks for any help.

OK thank you what height do I put the brackets on though that hold the cistern in place?

No need for brackets, fix the cistern through the screw holes.

that depends if it is plastic or china

No it doesn't. The diagram shown is for a china cistern and has no brackets. It shows the fixing holes at the top of the cistern.

no you are wrong, a china cistern is too heavy just to use the two top fixing holes, you must use two brackets to support the weight & the two top holes are just to keep it back to the wall, a plastic cistern will normally only be fixed at the top.

ok do you fit so the flush pipe is almost as far in the syphon as it will go? Its not a plastic cistern is china

Yes, but not too far as it may hold the flush valve up.

Think some one once gave me a tip. To push the flush pipe in to the pan and the for the height of your bracket just do a level line 2inch down from the top of the flush pipe does that sound about right?

No it doesn't sound right at all. That would mean the flush pipe would stick 2" into the cistern. Way too far for the new flush valves.

as above, the flush pipe seals on the nut & rubber washer so you only need about an inch going into the bottom of the syphon/flush valve

Ok thanks so if I measure about an 1.25 inch down from the top the flush pipe and do a level line at this and put brackets there it should be right?
