We need to adjust water level in our toilet cistern as it is overfilling. Only ones I have come across before have a plastic threaded bar with 2 locking nuts which you wind in or out to change the fill level. This one is older type, with no visible adjuster on the arm itself.

How do we change the level please?

Thanks

Try unscrewing out the bar so that it cuts off the water supply.

If you experiment you will see how it works. :D

If it's an old-style ball-valve with a brass float-arm, then the arm needs to be bent downwards carefully in order to lower the float level.

If you could post a picture, this might help in giving you more specific advice.

probably a part 1 ball valve non adjustable.that is now letting by.if its been there ages and worked then bending the arm is pointless.as it would of always overflowed.i would say its either washer has gone or the ball has gone taking water in.
