Hello,

Ive just moved into my new house and im a complete novice to DIY. I want to install a mixer shower over my bath. The walls are currently painted in emulsion paint which i assume has been on the walls since the house was built about five years ago. The paint is solid with no signs of flakes.

My plan was to score the surface of the paint, paint the walls around the bath with the BAL water tanking solution and then tile over the top.

Will leaving the paint on the walls cause any problems?

All advice is welcome.

Many Thanks,

Glyn
