Hi, can you help/advise?

I have recently replaced my water pump and my diverter valve on my ch system. I suspect I have a lot of air in my system as the diverter valve makes a funny noise then cuts off. How much air can be in the system and is it best to take it out through the srew in the water pump?

Thanks S

If you drained the system ,there will be a lot of air to get rid of ,bleeding radiators, pump, boiler ,cylinder coil all need doing together with any vents placed high up on the system ( if any).
Latching motorised valves open manually when refilling should also be done.
And of course adding inhibitor.

Is it a sealed system or open vented?, if OV, then important that the new pump's settings are as near the old ones as possible, some pumps come set to max speed which can cause pump over and air ingress through the open vent.
