Can someone advise on a good alarm that can be used in my garage which is located opposite my house (It has power)?

Some thieving bar-steward broke into it and made off with my stuff.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Personally for something like this I would fit any professional hardwired system, eg Texecom, Scantronic, Pyronix. Your problem would be that most if not all detectors will have to be on a delay as the system would not know if it was you coming in to unset keypad or an intruder as you likley only have one entry/exit door. Therefore I'd recommend a keyswitch or Standalone prox fob reader located outside so you can disarm system before entering. Then sited inside the garage a F...off loud siren like a Masterblaster or conventional alarm siren and most of all a Smoke Cloak or Fog Bandit. This will ensure your property remains and any intruder is dealt with efficiently and leagally!

That is some really serious upselling! The video is of armed jewellery and post office heists. What does one of these cost? And what's the recharge cost when the cat's set it off?

Bit ott i know, just fit a Texecom
Veritas Compact, it'll do the job at a good price. I would still fit a external siren internally as the noise will be enough in a confinded space and consider a keyswitch for arming/disarming externally.
