Alpha CB24X Hot water query

so I've got an Alphta CB24x with a hot water problem. Central Heating works fine but no hot water unless the central heating is on or unless I have the tap on full blast.

I searched the forums here and the two popular answers seem to be either the microswitch or the diaphragm.

I manually tripped the Microswitch and the Central Heating came on - Even when the unit was set to hot water only which left me a little puzzled.

So, Are those symptoms indicitative of a failed diaphragm or is it the diverter????

Any suggestions/pointers will be most helpful!

central heating didnt come on, you asked the boiler for hot water by activating the microswitch but because the diaphragm is burst the diverter hasnt moved to the hot water position.

this isnt a particularly easy repair for a novice. if you are not all that handy i would get someone in.

Cheers for that and yes thats what I'm going to do. I know enough to know when I don't know enough to fix the problem!
