Alternative to Keston Celsius 25?

I chose a Keston Celsius 25 boiler because it could be installed in a cellar with the air inlet and flue pipes routed through 50mm MUPVC waste pipe - both are about 15 metres long. I have now seen quite a few alarming reports of problems with these boilers and note that Keston have discontinued them. Could anyone suggest an alternative replacement boiler should it fail and parts become difficult to obtain - as tends to happen?

Is the Qudos more reliable or was the Celsius 25 just an unfortunate choice?

Well they've certainly realised some of the bad things they did back then, and made improvements. Only time will really tell though.
Like the other manufacturers, they buy-in their fans, gas valves etc etc, mostly from the same manufacturers like Honeywell, Papst and the rest, so you get much the same reliabuility on many components as on other boilers.
They've gone back to the cylindrical heat exchanger, which is a good thing.

Lots of Kestons fail when they aren't installed properly. Sometimes you'd think plumbers can't read.
If the water's clean, the flow rate is kept to what it should be, the flue is installed correctly, the system's inhibited and the boiler is serviced regularly and competently, then you can expect pretty good relliability. But that goes for any boiler!
10 to 15 years is what they say; the days of the boiler which runs for 30 years without being touched, are over.

Most manufacturers offer a twin pipe flue, but unfortunately the flue will be larger than the 50mm used by Keston.

You may be interested to know that the Celsius 25 was installed as a replacement for a Glotec 80 condensing boiler which was installed about 15 years earlier. Unfortunately the company (Glotec) went bust about 2 years later. I managed to get replacement servicing kits from various sources over the years but eventually it failed through burner foil corrosion.
I was relieved to find that the Keston could fit in this awkward position using similar waste pipe flueing. The system was thoroughly flushed out and a Magnaclean unit was fitted. Hopefully, another 15 years??
