Any Geordie could've told you it would start raining this weekend. Why? Because the Hoppings started yesterday. 
It'll quite likely rain datsun cogs all next week and the Town Moor will be a mud bath. I'm just relieved that I don't have to cycle over it to get to work anymore. The inch-thick coating of brown slime on the path was navigable with care but there was usually at least one filthy lorry parked right across it, forcing me off into a six inch deep bog.
