Ariston Margherita 2000 not emptying

My four year old Ariston Margherita 2000 washing machine stopped at the emptying stage. The dial just kept clicking round and round. Nothing has happened to dislodge the drainage hose. Any ideas?

Check that there isn't a blockage in the filter and pump.
