Arrgggggg!!! Ideal standard waste

Mcapline fitting will fit on. Have had the misfortune to use one of these and it is a PITA to fit up but it does work suprisingly, even the magneticly operated plug. Just watch when you have to bore the bath for the control some baths (Ideal, Sottini) will have a stepped support board under the rim and cause problems not giving a flat surface for the locknut if it is positioned near the corner of the bath.

Thanks for this, The hole was already done so I didn't have to worry about that, right then I need to fine a Mcapline fitting.

firstly thanks to everyone who gave advice.

right then down to the nitty gritty. the instructions actually give you 2 choices. use a 50mm or a 40mm However the 40mm isnt 40mm so your off to a carp start straight away. Its a 1.5 inch so 38.1mm. when you order your bath and waste you also need a macalpine t28 http://www.mcalpineplumbing.com/1-189-multifit-straight-connector.html

And no it doesn't tell you any of this in the instructions.

once you have fitted the legs and waste to the bath see if the plug drops, if it doesn't then it will be off centre just like mine is (ideal are sending someone out)

before you attempt to fit the bath pour some water in it and check for leaks. I am not the first person who has had either no seals or inadequate seals.

if it leaks then you will have to take it apart and seal it yourself.
there is a special tool to unscrew the plug hole side but i used one of these

yes I did feel like smashing it to bits but i used it to unscrew it instead. it fits really well.
