Anyone out there got a backyard workshop? I have converted my 20'X14' garage into a workshop, dead proud of it I am, spend all my time pottering about in it surrounded by my treasures, got a woodburning stove in it with a pot of coffee always on the boil.

What sort of things do you potter about with?
It's nice to have an interest in things, my workshop has not seen much use recently, due to health reasons, also it's too darned cold, might get a woodburner though, codging one up from a 47kg propane cylinder, should be a good summer project.

Don't let the gas men hear that or they'll explode out of their boilersuits.

Have got a summerhouse and workshop built together with my BBQ woodburner and deckchair, can't beat the feeling, boys will be boys ;)

Just getting mine into some order.
Generally for bench testing items and pottering about making little gadgets that seem like fun ( to start with :D). But really need to run in some power than use the leads.

Although I am a plumber by trade I have always been interested in woodworking IE; making pine furniture and over the years I have built up a lot of machinery and I have found myself a niche market in making garden artifacts such as planters, birdboxes and feeders etc, no problems in selling them to local garden centres and garden shops.
The birdboxes I make are not the type of rubbish you see in places like B&Q these are what I like to call handcrafted and they are painted up in whats called canal art type painting, you will see it on canal barges, its called Roses and Castles, will see if I can manage to upload a couple of pics to try and explain what I am up to.

I've opened a photo album and put up a couple of pics, see if you can find it and give me an idea as to what you think of my birdboxes??

I think they look fine and dandy. And a nice clock too.
Its always good to see nice hand crafted stuff.
