Hi

My father has a Baxi 551 Back Boiler which was serviced last year.

Over the past few days we have found that the pilot light has gone out. It had been windy, so we assumed this was the case

Q1 Can the pilot light flame be made slightly bigger, to prevent this happening ?

However, we have found the light out, although we have not noticed any strong winds.

Is there another problem ?

Also lightly it again when it goes out is a 'devil of a job'

Pushing the grey button in and clicking the spark button used to work every click, but it seems much slower now.

I've seen myself lying on the floor for 10 minutes or so, trying to get the flame to show.

What's going on ??

Many thanks !!

You will need a CORGI man to sort that mate as Back Boilers need a fair bit of stripping to get to stuff ;)

Sounds like a full and proper service is needed on your BBU.

You can't do anything on these without disturbing gas connections.

As said RGI territory I'm afraid.
