The lithium batteries on those planes did catch fire on several planes after they were delivered and they were grounded for a few weeks until they were modified and replaced.

They are cheaper to run as they are more fuel efficient by about 20% so flights should be cheaper ( in theory ).

Both flights I took were late leaving but they fly at 37,000 ft and went a bit faster so they made up the time and still arrived on schedule.

Yes, I suppose it's quite common for a few teething troubles. Must say that I felt a lot safer flying on the new Airbus when Boeing were having to ground planes.
