Hi all. Due to various reasons, we're considering taking on a little project ourselves. We want to remove a cupboard, modify the stair bulkhead and build a high-sleeper bed.

Stage 1 is to remove the cupboard, but what are the chances of it being load bearing? Have been told it doesn't look like it is elsewhere but wanted a second opinion. Some images attached of what's there from the room, from the loft above and a plan of what we want to do.

Any advise is very welcome. Thanks.

Highly unlikely to be load bearing, you’ve got a trussed roof which is supported by the outside walls at each end of the house. What’s the vertical bit of ply in the loft though which the trusses appear to be fixed to?

Thanks for the reply. That's a huge beam that runs the width of the house (I think) it was just the photo that made it look like that. Here's one that shows it clearer.

There’s also nothing below, not sure if that makes a difference, but those walls are only on the first floor.
