Hi all,
We are doing an en-suite refurbishment and want to turn our toilet through 90 degrees in order to fit in a shower adjacent to the toilet. The only way we can fit the shower in is to turn the toilet.
The current soil stack is within the depth of the floor joist - the edge of the floor joist is is 320mm (in parallel) from the wall which we want to put the toilet against
In order to put the toilet and fit it close to the wall, we would need to run the outlet pipe as per the attached sketch.
So, the outlet pipe would run over the tiles and turn through 90 degrees straight out of the toilet, then through another 90 degrees before connecting vertically in to the existing soil pipe. We would then box around this outlet pipe.
Does anybody know if this would work, or is it likely to cause problems with blockage? I will be getting a proper plumber to do this work, but I'm wanting to convince myself it will work so I can plan what sort of toilet to get.
(Moving the toilet so that it is 320mm off the wall won't really work as the toilet will be almost colliding with the door).
