Our builder asked us to give an on-the-spot preference on where we wanted our two Velux windows to be fitted  .

The width of the extension is 4.5m across, and the Velux windows measure approx 760 by 1000. Our french doors (LHS) are 1800 wide and the kitchen window (RHS) is 1300 wide (all mm). Both of these are 40mm from the side walls. (I'm giving as much info as I can, as I don't know which bit will be useful for you :) ).

Is there a best location for Velux windows to maximise the amount of light coming in? And to avoid any shadows?

TIA
:)

You want them as far back from the exsisting windows to maximise light, you will have restriction due to the construction. Thats what I had anyway..I am well pleased.
