Landing light with 2 way switches. Standard GLS bulb was fine but changed it to a 100 watt equivalent energy saving bulb with 3 tubes. New bulb works fine when it's switched on but there is a fault when the light is off.
No problem when both switches are 'on' i.e. both switches are down. But, when both switches are 'off' i.e. up, the light flashes regularly and continuously every 6 seconds or so. For the first few flashes, all 3 tubess flash but it soon settles down to a flash of just one tube.
Wiring behind the switches is OK but haven't checked behind the rose.
The feed from the lighting circuit is on the upstairs switch with the usual 3 core + E cable going to the downstairs switch.
