Hi all, need a bit of advice.
I've recently retired and purchased a house, which I don't have a mortgage on. The house is a bit of a quirky one and has two separate staircases at each end, with no link between the two sides upstairs and just one connecting door to get from one side of the house to the other on the ground floor. My son and his wife have recently had a baby and are renting, therefore struggling with a deposit.
So my question is, if they moved into the house, can I block up the internal door? I'd put them a little kitchen in as well in the other side but the house would have one water supply, electric supply etc. I'm hoping this wouldn't be a problem as I own the house and am not looking for any financial gain or selling/letting the other half out etc.
Any thoughts??
