Well that is typical of a boiler stat which is worn and has a too wide gap between on and off. Should only be about five degrees!
The part will be about £25 but needs fitting by an engineer.
It is such an old boiler that many would say it is better replaced. But an efficient boiler stat increases comfort and efficiency.
