To all boiler experts out there.

When I use the cold tap in the kitchen the boiler 'fires' up (Worcester 28i Combi). I promise this is not a mistake :)

Anyone got any ideas on why this is?

cheers

Do you mean it trys to fire for a second or runs constant hot water out the tap?

It 'fires up' and sounds like it is heating water for 2-3 minutes - the tap is the cold water tap.

The boiler burns nothing for 2-3 minutes - not good. But what is making it fire up? how can the pressure switch on the boiler be effected by the cold tap?

it sounds like you need to have a mini expansion vessel fitted on your mains supply as close to the boiler as is possible.lit is probably firing when you turn the tap off rather than on and as the water " bounces" within the pipework it will lift a flow switch causing the boiler to fire
