I need to install a boiler flue (similar to a soil vent pipe) through a tiled roof with very small tiles. Looking at the flashing kits at properties near by some have the flashing over the tiles on the side and some have the flashing kit under the tiles at the side. Which way is right. the tiles are about 6in * 4in each.

It can go part over and part under - it depends on the tiles
But if the boiler installer fits the lead slate, you can bet it will be wrong and just plonked on top of the tiles
You small tiles would seem to indicate that the lead slate goes under at the top and sides and over at the bottom
