boiler move with plastic pipes???

I'm having the boiler moved into the loft and the gas fitter has said he would opt for a modern plastic type pipes over copper.

He is gas safe and work s for the local council in this capacity.

I've never heard of this can someone just clear it up please.

That's because they are easier to fit than copper! A bit cheaper too.

They are also slightly less likely to be damaged by frost in a loft.

But if he is gas registered with his employer then he needs his OWN gas registration to do any work for you.

Ask for his registration number BEFORE he is allowed in your house! Then YOU check it online.

Most modern homes will have plastic pipes on their heating circuits with no issues.
The Boiler Manufacturers Installation Instructions will state where plastic can be used on the system, it may say the first metre, 2 or 3 must be in copper.
You should always take note of the Boiler instructions
