Hi,

I have a Vaillant turbomax 242 boiler, which has stopped working - with the burner lockout indicator light on. When this has happenedbbefore I've simply resest the ignition sequence and it's been fin . This time however, no such luck.

The fan kicks in, I can see through the window that the pilot lights Ignite. But then after 5 seconds the pilot lights die. It tries again, but fails.

Any thoughts.

First thought is your boiler doesnt have a pilot light what you are seeing is the main burner lighting and a safety device on your boiler is not sensing that the burner has actually lit so it is shutting down, this is RGI work so sorry cant advise you any further you will have to call a qualified engineer
