Ok i have moved into new house about 3 months ago, and its been working great.

Come to it yesturday and noticed the boiler had not kicked in.

So manually moved the selector to Constant, to activate heating.

I left it over night thinking it might have just been playing up, but it hasnt come on again,

Is ther ea fix or things to check

Its a MYSON - ORION boiler
I can take photos if it helps ?

Are you saying that even on constant it still did not kick in, or you put it back on timed and it wouldn't work again :?:

What timer is it? If its as old as the boiler then it could be time for a new one

it has 6 settings

Constant - heating + water
timer 1 - heating and water
timer 1 and 2 heating and water
Constant water
timer 1 water
timer 1 and 2 water

when selected to any of the 4 timer settings it wasnt firing up the boiler when it was time to come on.

but if i flick it to constant heating and water or constant water, it works fine

so basically the rotating timer thing isnt wroking as it should

ohh jsut fixed it..

i rotated the time selector switch, roated it clockwise 3 times, and it freed something, and i began to hear what sounds liek a relay operationg each time i went past each start time.

Working fine now in time setting..

will have to see how it goes

but i think ur right, new boiler wil be required soon lol, how much approx ?

Depends on what you want, whether you need new hot water cylinder or change to combi and if any trv's needed where it can be installed, what type of flue etc.

Also what part of the country you live

Around my area roughly between £1800 & £2400 + VAT ;)
