Hello,

I have the above washer dryer. When drying, It had suffered from overheating to the point the heat sheild melted / burnt and the thermal cut out kept tripping.
I have replaced the front thermostat in the housing after the element. Put it on acrylic drying setting, all fine, did not get very warm. Have just put it on easy care setting (Next up from acrylic) and it has got really hot. To the point it was painful to touch the top of the machine, and also the drum when unloading.
The overload did not trip, but it seems to me that it should not get this warm.

Few questions / thoughts.

Is this normal operating temperature or is there still a fault.?
Does the thermal cut out switch also have a thermostat that controls operating temperature? Might this have failed?

The fan is working fine, and I can,t find any blockages to the airflow.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Is there something wrong, or is it meant to run really hot?

Thanks in advance,

Andy.
