No heat in tumble dryer.

Taken the back off.

The two safety thermostats have continuity through them, so assume ok.

The heating element does not have continuity through either coil (two elements, with one end connected together.) I was expecting at least one of the elements to be ok, but both have gone.

Am I right in thinking that with the two heat settings making it a total 2.5kw, the second element breaks first without you realising it and you carry on using the machine with only the 1.5kw element working. Then when heat goes altogether, it means finally the 1.5kw element has finally gone as well.

Would love it that someone could make sense of what I have tried to explain and confirm, before I replace the twin element. :)
