hi

my bosch WVD24520 is playing up

problems

when put on a dry cycle the drum fills with water and I get the F18 error

when put on a washing cycle it stops at the spin cycle and just turns slowly with 1 minute showing on the time left until you turn it of

if you put it directly on to a spin cycle it spins no problem

what i have tried

checked for blockage in filter and hoses

have seen the impeller spinning while attatched to the machine on spin cycle

have made impeller spin connected to a lead direct to power

checked impeller is tight on shaft

checked pressure switch clicks and that tubes are attatched

any pointers would be greatly received as this machine was nearly £500 and is only 2 months out of warranty

many thanks mark

F18 is usually a drain issue. It could be the pump (even if you observe the impellor turning), a plumbing issue, partial blockage in the sump hose, or drain hose kinked/blocked.

hi

many thanks for the quick reply

have checked all drain and sump pipes no blockage

have ordered a pump (£10) to see if my pump is weak or intermittent (fingers crossed)

May be worth checking the inlet valves -you may have some cross over on the dry cycle as this uses a cold feed condensation feed I believe.
Resistance checks on the valves with the lid off and power off should tell you if the valves are ok

Good luck with the valves....it certainly shouldnt fill on a dry cycle I think
it should be just a trickle to condense.
If it isnt a valve then it may be wiring to it (again check continuity)
Failing that then it could be the control board.

hi

all valves (solenoids) check on resistance as does the wiring continuity

@cjapeterborough

please dont let it be the control board cheaper to buy a new washer

many thanks for the pointers

hi

got new pump today fitted and everything seems to be back to normal

washer completes cycle

haven't tried a drying cycle yet

the old pump was well worn when you turned the impeller there was no resistance then slap unlike the new one

also the new pump gushes water out where as the old one was just a trickle

hope this thread helps others

thanks mark
