Bosch WFF 2001 - rattling noise

Hi

We have a Bosch WFF 2001 washing machine which is about twelve years old. it still works fine apart from a rattling noise when being used. It happens on the wash cycles as well as the spin cycle. I have checked inside the drum (searching for screws and washers which may have fallen out of my jeans pocket) but cannot find anything. What is strange is that when I spin the drum by hand it does not make the noise. It sounds like it could be a ball bearing but again, it doesn.t happen when turned by hand.

Any ideas anyone?

Many thanks

Are you doing a 'like for like' test ? or are you turning the drum by hand when it is empty hence bearings and other bits not loaded, unlike when the machine is having to turn it with wet, heavy clothes inside........

Have you checked the bots that hold the weights on. They might be loose. Also drop the filter might be something in there.
