The bearings have gone on my Bosch WFF1401 washing machine. I replaced the bearings on my previous Bosch machine and swore I would never repair another one as it was the Devil's own job!

Has anyone replaced the bearings on one of these machines? Was it difficult? I seem to remember having to buy a big aluminium casting last time which was a) expensive :( and b) hard work to fit

Is it worth fixing?

Thanks!

Still a good quality all steel machine-bearings are pretty cheap if you look around less the twenty quid...
If you have fitted bearings before then 2nd time around should be easier...

You should not need to remove the drum.

You remove the pulley, unbolt the bearing cross from the outer drum
tap the end of the spindle to free it and lift out the bearing cross.

You can then drift out the old bearings and press or drift in the new ones.
