Brown substance on airing cupboard wall

Hello. Just wondering if anyone knows what this may be?

It's coming down from my loft and down the wall in the airing cupboard. It's a brown, greasy substance and it doesn't really smell of anything.

It seemed to come out the other day when I was having a shower and the water started running out (shower pump sounded like it was about to explode). I'm going to have a look in the loft to see if anything has sprung a leak

Extractor fan? There isn't one in the bathroom.

Have had a look in loft and can't find anything leaking.
