I recently purchased a Brydale X to cope with a draught under my front door.
I've been following the instructions, and have it cut to the required length, but I've come across a couple of problems that I hope very much someone with more experience can help with

1. First, it has an internal spring that has to be repositioned from the left to the right. I got it out and repositioned it, but it kept falling out. I took a look at the spare parts on the Stormguard website and the stud pin pictured on the website clearly has a head, whereas the one I have does not, it's just a straight bit of metal. So I am wondering if anyone knows if it should have some sort of a head

2. I can't figure out how high or low on the door to position it. The instructions say that if the step is worn to "bed down to lowest point" Does this meet to fit it as low as you possibly can. My door step is very worn and there is a large gap between the door and the step, so I want it as low as possible I guess

Thank you in anticipation
