Building guidelines

Hi,

Does anyone know a good website that explains building regulations for the layman.

I'm having a granny flat built in the garden and wanted a website where I could check regulations about things like depth of foundations, roof pitch, drainage, guttering and so on.

Tall order, I know - but maybe someone out there knows somewhere I can get this kind of info.

Your local Building Inspector will be able to tell you of the important details regarding structure etc and will advise you if you need help. Here is the link to the online Building Regulations ,

You can get a free booklet from your local planning department regarding size and area you can builds to,but for footing size etc should be on the drawing plan.As Dazb said,see your local building inspector at the planning department who will answer any question you may have.
