Apologies for bumping an old thread but just wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. The replacement motor I put in broke this week (bad time for it!). My wife called in a plumber who wanted £350 to replace it with a honeywell valve (drain the system and replace the entire valve) and couldnt do it until late next next week. But once again this little fix did the job instead with a £23 part from screwfix. What is a bit worrying is that it is the motor I installed just 2 years ago that went again, but in the run-up to Xmas a £23 fix is a LOT more bearable than a £350 fix.
Thanks again - amazingly clear guidance from everyone on here.
