can you plumb in a shower pump with low main water pressure?

We're now being driven demented by the electric shower that only does cold so after an earlier post & following the advice we were given we checked the basics & unfortunately haven't resolved the issue. Another person posted similar problems and after reading their response we wonder if our shower is knackered which is why it's not heating water/working?
Is pressure an issue: you can stop our cold water tap (mains fed) with our finger (does that suggest poor flow?) someone asked me to turn all the cold taps on and one went down to a trickle what does that indicate?
we wondered if we might be able to have showers by installing a pump & a shower (running off the central heating HW) do you have to have a certain bar pressure for a pump? are there minimums? we've been told we will get our own water supply within 9 mths, after that if it's not been done we can put in our own supply & we can recover the costs for a new supply from the surrounding land owner but I don't think I can cope with no shower for almost a yr. Please can someone offer any suggestions? we're at a loss..
thank you

sounds like very poor flow/pressure.

your can fit a shower/pump off your gravity hot water system or just change your mains electric shower to a electric shower fed by the cold water storage in the loft.

t80si both tank fed electric showers.

Thanks for your reply, we'll look into the models you suggested and here's to showering again : )

Thanks for that muggles - is that the same for everyone? the set up here is this, farmer decided to sell off 2 of the cottages on his land but nothing else. The water supply comes from mains and then branches off to the 2 cottages (neighbour in adjacent cottage has same problems poor flow and no shower etc etc) the supply then goes up to main farm, plus enormous house, plus all the water needed for the cattle and the barn - as the supply is currently coming off the farmers land he pays for the water rate aspect of the council tax so can we still approach Scottish Water and ask for better pressure?
