I have turned screw A anti clock wise and it still won't come off the wall

Am I doing something wrong?

Release the pressure of the underneath screws and try undoing screw A again. Support the cabinet while you unscrew and it should then slacken off and lift up to unhook.

Undoing the screw loosens the pull of the hook so you can lift the hook (and the cabinet) off the wall bracket.

The screw does not go into the wall.

If you undo it enough, the cabinet will eventually fall off without warning.

The mechanism is a hook, which hooks over a corresponding plate fixed to the wall. The screw tightens the hook to hold it firm. Loosen the screw but then lift the cabinet up and off. Be prepared, it might be heavy.

thought that this was the wall unit from hell.

It turns out, that someone (me) had applied mastic between the unit and the tiles underneath. And that's why it wouldn't come off.

Definitely my dimmest moment of the year thus far

Thanks for the help as always guys
