Carb / Fuel tap issue on mower

Starting problems - particularly from cold - are usually related to the choke, or lack of it.
Are you certain that all gaskets are in place, not slipped or the wrong way round?
Does the machine have a slow, reliable tickover?

Only gaskets that i had seen where one to the head which i left on & the other goes between car / air filter casing like a space block say 1/4 think.
Im sure it can only go one one way.
Tickover is ok.

The plastic ‘emulsion block’ - as they are called - acts as a heat insulator to prevent fuel vaporisation from a overheated carb.
I think I’d check the choke operation, ensuring that the choke butterfly closes completely.....the engine won’t like starting if it isn’t but shouldn’t make much difference when hot.
However......if the engine is very hot and has stood for a couple of minutes, a momentary application of choke can be needed for a restart.
I guess the carburettor is the original one - how did the machine perform before this?
John :)

Lady owner and like you would expect all fine.
Will look at the chocke operation tomorrow.

Just had a look now.
The gasket block is on the correct way.
The choke flap closes 100% when lever operated.

The leve is like a large teardrop,as i operate it towards the tortoise i can see the rod operating a lever ontop the carb.
This rod then stops at a certain point and the choke rod then starts to operate.
Wi the teardrop at the tortoise logo the choke flap in the carb is fully closed

Morning,

Maybe a quick reply if possible.

The float bowl is leaking some fuel so i need to quickly order a new seal.
Short video link supplied below if you can identify the carb for me.
I mean ive seen the seal which i think is correct on ebay but no size is mentioned.

Here are the ebay links if you can advise if the seal is correct for my carb in the video.
Thanks

Have you seated the float bowl correctly ,its quite easy to have it cocked over to one side so its not pressing on the gasket all the way around..?
