cavity insulation

converting business premice to residential. been told have to carry out cavity wall insulation but contractor states not possable because cavity is only 38mm wide. Any recommendations apart from expensive wall coverings?

well you've got 2 options

1. full fill cavity insulation blown into existing cavity
2. insulated the internal face of block work with a insulated board covered with plasterboard

but get some sap calc's done to see which would be the best option and if this would pass building regulations u-values under Part L1b

the calcs will also identify what thickness of insulation board you would need
