Need to install new system.
Told to have new condensing boiler.
I am unable to have a combi boiler as I need a power shower.

The water needs to come from the cylinder with a pump. I have a triton pumped system.

I have a 5 bedroom house with 16 rads.
Br Gas have suggested a new Baxi Megaflow 28 High Efficiency Sealed system boiler with a new flue.
Water system treatment and powerflush and install magnetic system filter.
However I have been told that as the rads and pipework are more than 30 years old and if the new system is sealed with about 2-3 Bar pressure then the rads are likely to leak before too long.
What would you do. Just have a new boiler and system flushed through or take up all the pipework and replace all the rads? your help please.

I'd get someone else to quote and see what they recommend. On a thirty year old system I'd be looking to stick with open vented though.

Sealed systems have their benefits, and even 30yr old pipework shouldnt leak, its the valves and rads that are more of a concern. Depends on the situation (ie buried/hidden pipework etc), but nothing wrong with going the vented route. 28kw seems like alot to me, prob too big. Definately get other quotes.
