We are just in the process of doing up an old house that needs everything doing. The house doesn't have any central heating so this is our first job. It is basically a two-up, two-down with a kitchen extension at the back and has concrete floors. I don't really want lots of pipes running along the walls and have heard that you can buy skirting boards which are moulded so that the pipes run behind them. Does anyone know about this, and if so where I could get them from? Many thanks

You can run gas pipes behind normal skirting, as is discussed on another current thread. In most cases there would be enough depth available for 22mm (with a modest amount of channeling into the wall behind) and the skirting board could be set a little further out on horizontal battens to accommodate larger pipes.
